Good times in Texas!

We are in TX this weekend to see Ashlee try on beautiful wedding dresses and visit with family. Al stayed with Aunt Ann on Friday while Noni and Mommy went dress shopping and then Shelly picked him up and he an Koen played together... well Koen played and Al watched. Koen does like to kiss Al though, which unfortunately I do not have a picture of, but Al likes to sit up like a big boy now and so of course he had to prove to Koen that he was just as talented as him. So cute...

Now there is a smile! All do to Al's adoration of Shelly... or Noni, either way.
I cant believe how good he is at sitting up now! I can almost walk away and leave him sitting there and feel comfortable that he is not going to do a face plant...haha. Now, he still refuses to roll from front to back; I know he can do it, he just doesnt want to show all his tricks at one time... i mean, come on, how else is he going to keep everyones attention 24 hours a day.

Is that a SMILE?

Well, folks...this is as good as it gets. If he didnt find his hands so fascinating, then we might be able to get a complete smile, but this is the best we could do. Maybe is was bc he was so happy to be playing with his friend Tanner?!
Tanner and Al both have a feet fettish right now... it is too cute. You should see them with their socks off; they go crazy!

It was so good to see Allie and Tanner this weekend eventhough we really didnt do much but sit around and talk.(thats what girls do best). We ate fabulous crepes and I watched Allie make a fool of herself hoola hooping on Wii Fit for the first time. haha

Daddy gets home tomorrow and I think Al is ready. Mom is ready too. :) But, we leave again for TX help Ash pick out a wedding dress on Friday. Al is so excited!

Oh yes! And Al rolled back the other way this weekend and now is doing it like a champ. It is hilarious thought bc he just figured out a way to roll over his arm... wasnt gonna let that get him down! He is also doing better and better at sitting up. I think we'll have it very soon.

Who Am I?

I am starting to think we may never get a picture of this kids smile. He is not passin' 'em out that is for sure. Noni (thats pronounced Naw-Nee) aka GiGi aka my mom came to town this past week for a couple of days and this is the best picture that we could take. Pretty pitiful. We had a good time though, I promise! Tomorrow Allie and Tanner are coming to visit... we are so excited that Al decided to go to bed extra early and get some good rest. (that means Mommy gets to get up extra early as well!) Or, maybe he is just so sad bc Daddy is in New Orleans for 4 days :(. We will be working on some good pictures in the next couple days.

Two days and counting

So we turned a corner on Tuesday night and decided to let Al "cry it out" so to speak. I am just exhausted from being up every 3-5 hours every night with him that I just said, enough! He is doing quite well surprisingly... it makes me feel a little like I was the one inhibiting his progress toward a full nights sleep, but oh well. :)
Tuesday night he woke up at 1:30 and cried for about 45 minutes. Beau went in there and turned him on to his back at about 45 min and he stopped crying and went to sleep until 6:30. Last night I think I heard him at 3:30 for about 5 minutes and then I had to actually wake him up at 7!! I really hope he is getting the hint that mommy and daddy are boycotting the night visitations..haha. I'll let you know how the rest of the week goes.

The begining of a New Year

So many things to come in the new year! Here are some updated pictures...
Al loves to cuddle with dad... or rather, Dad loves to cuddle with Al

He found his feet last week... and he doesnt mind a little toe lint

So cute, except for the drool..haha

We started using the door bouncy seat, but we are still trying to grasp the concept!
So little Al is getting so big! And too big to nurse, or so he thinks. He is not in to it anymore. The only time he wants to nurse is at night. Any other time he is so fussy and I end up getting so frustrated bc he only wants to nurse for 5 minutes before he gets distracted, leaving me to deal with a full milk supply! ouch. SO I am going to start dropping the day feedings. I am so torn by this. On one hand I am a dietitian and I know this is the best nutrition for my baby, but on the other hand he is making me so angry that I actually yelled at him today bc he wouldnt nurse. Seriously yelled and he started crying.. I felt horrible. I just cant do it anymore with work and pumping it is just becoming too much. But, I am still slightly sad eventhough I am only going to drop the day feedings. I feel like I am letting him down. But, I am also relieved... it is so much pressure to be the sole food source for your baby. Really.

To counter my guilt, I bought Full Circle Organic formula... we shall see how long this guilt trip lasts. It making me feel better for the time being. And, it is actually the same price as the othe name brand formulas.
He is also really trying to roll back over (front to back)the past couple of days. His arm is totally in his way though... so much so that he looks as if it might break off. It is really funny looking... I am going to try and get a picture before he figures out what to do with his arm. He gets so twisted up I dont even know how to help him! haha
Have a great week everyone!

A New Years Treat for Mommy

Happy 2009 everyone!
The Reinberg house has been a little under the weather, I have a serious cold (sore throat, runny nose, and all) Al is getting the runny nose and the cutest cough ever and Beau has a milder case of mine. I am trying not to kiss Al, but it is so darn hard! Anyway, last night Al slept through the night!!! He went to bed at 7:45 and didnt wake up until 5:30! I fed him and he went right back to sleep until 9. Wowowowowow. I was thrilled and desperately needed the sleep to help kick this cold.
If this is what the New Year is bringing it is going to be a good one!
