A few unrelated events...

This was a picture from when Great Granny and Papa came to town to take care of the babies while my babysitter took her week of vacation. Hope is really getting into reading these days, which Al is not always thrilled with as this means she is constantly grabbing at the book and trying to put her mouth all over it. "No Hope!" he says.

Al is also really into finger painting these days. If he was a little more careful with it I might be apt to let him do it more often. But what's the fun in that, mom? Today he even decided that he should use his feet instead of his fingers.... finger painting= a way to get me to mop my floor.

And this was Hope's first "playdate" with her friend Rose. Rose and Hope were born on the same day in the same hospital! Kara and I now work together, and I swear I did see her in my extended stay after c-section, but cant be sure... funny though!

On another totally random note, following the theme of this post... Beau and I went to CoMo this weekend to spend some time together in the place we first met. We intended to go to Murray's, a delectible restaurant that we went to all the time when we lived there, but it was closed for the one week of vacation that they take each year... what are the chances! Oh well, this just means we will have to take another mini-vacation sometime soon. It was great to have a night just Beau and me... so easily to forget what that used to be like! ;)

Kittle-boose

Everyday on the way to Joan's house we always pass a train track and discuss the parts of the train. Today we discovered the caboose!

Bottle it up...

And keep this one for the memory books... Al, Hope, and I laid in Al's bed for about a half hour tonight singing songs and talking. He fed her his water cup which she loved and kept looking at him and cooing. At one point he was talking about hair "alberts hair, mommy's hair, Hope's hair" and I said where is hope's hair and he said "right der" and he rubbed her head for almost a whole minute... It was the sweetest thing ever.

Oh Sleepless Nights

Used to be Holy Nights as in holy cow I actually got a full nights rest with two kids under two... But this past week has been a doosey. Though al understands he has to stay in his room when its bed time, he doesn't get that he actually has to go to sleep. He will sit in his rocking chair and read or lay in his bed counting or saying mommy to himself until about 10pm! I fear tired tantrums are on their way.
And now Hope too feels that she should be comforted every two hours through out the entire night. Not sure if she is teething or just discovered that if she cries mommy will come, but something has to change. How is the question.

Big Boy Bed

Al's first night in his bed was very uneventful. I built it up in my head as though it was going to be this great feat to get him to sleep in a big boy bed, but he totally proved me wrong. Thank goodness!

Trip to TX thus far...

Our trip to TX has been a whirl wind and its only been 24 hours. The plane was a disaster because Al got a 45 min nap before we left and I didnt pack his blankie which he proceeded to cry about the whole flight. I also forgot a burp rag for Hope and she, of course, puked all over Beau in the middle of the flight. Needless to say Beau was not happy with me.
We stayed with mom and Lee last night and I drank one too many margaritas and woke up with a headache this morning... not smart. We are now at the lake and having a blast. Our events as of today... Al on his own motorized sea-doo... which he calls a motorcycle.

Feeding the ducks.

Beau with seaweed from the bottom of the lake on his face... so gross.

And finally, Al summed up his night by rubbing meat with papa... a "double entendre" as my dad would say.
