New Tricks

Last night I was getting Al ready after a bath and I had him lying on the floor in his room. I stood up to get a diaper and he had rolled over and pushed himself into a sitting position all on his own!! He is so talented...haha. But seriously, so exciting that he can get into a sit all by himself! ok, probably boring to you all.

Teeth!!

or tooth, I should say. A couple nights ago I felt compelled to stick my finger in his mounth bc I hadnt checked for teeth lately, and there is was! One just barely breaking through on the bottom left side. The ironic part is that he is not acting any differently and this is one of the only weeks since he was 3 months that I havent thought "Oh wow, he is a little fussy today, maybey he is getting teeth!" haha. typical

Oh my gosh...

Al slept 12 hours (or IS currently asleep and sleeping 12 hours). Of course, it is the one day that I have to go to work at 6:15, so I didnt get to nurse him this morning. Tomorrow we will be back to business as usual, I'm sure.
He is such a sweet boy... I just love him so much. I really do. Even when he is being crabby, fussy and intolerable... I cant help it.

A whole new world.

I am not referencing Aladdin, though I have been singing that song in my head for the past 24 hours. Al has experienced many new things this weekend that he has really enjoyed. The first, seen below is a multi-grain pancake. I made some a froze them this weekend so that Al can start "finger foods" and he pretty well likes them! He really just squishes it between his fingers, (gross, I know) but it's a start.

Then we decided it would be a good idea to take a bath so mom could empty the dish washer (and bc we sat on the ground at Pueblo Solis last night while mom and dad had dinner with Cuevas and Tyson... does this make me a hoosier?). Al is sitting so well now that we can take baths sitting up in the sink, yeay! So much easier now to give him a bath. The floor and counter get soaking wet, but I just take deep breaths and go with the flow.(a whole new me too!)

And, last... The Ball pit! Grandma and Grampi gave Al a ball pit for Christmas and we havent been able to use it, until now. I tried to gt one of him smiling in the balls, but he wouldnt take them out of his mouth long enough for me to snap a picture. Oh well.
So, these we a few of our adventures this weekend. We also went to dinner at the Bar on Friday night with Cary and Winnie, which was too fun and Al was so good. We brought the Bumbo for him to sit in, (since the high chairs are too spacious and he leans forward and hits his mouth on the table when he is in them, ouch!) and it works so well! We just sit it in a chair and pull him up to the table. Fabulous! We are looking forward to the end of this next week because we will be off to Utah to ski and see Nana, Papa, and crazy aunt Kristi! Have a great week everyone.

Too Cute

I couldn't resist posting these pictures. I just think he looks adorable here! of course, I am biased. He is also doing such a good jub sitting up! He is still a little wobbly and takes an occasional forward nose dive, but he gets better everyday... it is awesome to watch. That must be why after about a year and a half people get the itch for another baby because every day is so interesting in that year... I wont be scratching that itch.

Shrinking Baby

We went to the Dr. on Friday for Al's 6 month apt. and Al is 15lb 13 oz and 26 3/4 inches. This means he is in the 50th %ile for height and 25th %ile for weight... this is a big drop from the 4 month apt., but the Doc doesnt seem concerned. I mean I cant force feed him and he just will not eat very much these days. (Well.. ever)... he jsut doesnt have a big appetite! I think I may have to go to giving him smaller bottles more frequently bc he just will not take an 8 oz bottle all at once.
I am excited though to start feeding him more variety. I made greenbeans and peas over the weekend and grandma is going to feed him some plain yogurt this morning. He doesnt even know what he has coming to him!
On a sad note... Grandma and Al only have one more Monday together as she is going to have to go back to work 5 days a week to save some vacation time for the new baby. Al will miss his Grandma's undivided attention on Monday's, but they will still see eachother on Sunday's so all is not lost!

Big Arms, Little Butt

SO last night our friends the Ramthuns welcomed their 9lb 13oz baby boy into this world and consequently Beau and I were discussing Al's size. Beau, of course, slightly disappointed by his measly 6 lb 4 oz at birth was happy to hear that Al has quickly caught up and is now in the 90th %ile for height. However in refute of his slight 50th %ile for weight (at last weigh in) he countered with the fact that despite his destiny for skinny legs Al has a "hearty" rib cage and marked definition in his arms. (at this, I laughed so hard I nearly wet my pants)... you decide

These pictures are for Nana... Al loves his snuggle blanket and likes to start the bedtime ritual by swinging it up over his head and covering his face. He then settles into the cutest position with his blanket underneath him and his tiny little butt in the air. (this is Beau's favorite thing to look at)

Things We Like to Do...

These days Al likes to read with Daddy and cook with Mommy. He was helping me make waffles this morning and loving it! He is going to be competing on Top Chef when he grows up... thats what he told me.
